This treatment minimizes and often eliminates lines and wrinkles caused by muscles contracting in the area of concern. BOTOX® (Botulinum toxin) is a purified protein derived from the bacterium, Clostridium Botulinum. It relaxes targeted muscles, thereby eliminating wrinkles on certain parts of the face. It has been used for many years in treating patients with muscular diseases where the muscles are in spasm. For the past ten years, it has been used in cosmetic aesthetics to treat hyperfunctional facial lines. We inject this compound with a very small needle into the targeted muscles and it works by relaxing the muscles in the treated area. Virtually painless it is a very popular and gratifying treatment. The most common areas of treatment are the forehead, between the eyebrow for frown lines, around the eyes for crow’s feet, and on the sides of the nose for bunny lines. At The Fountain we have used Botox expertly and effectively more than anyone else in the surrounding area. Many practitioners can inject Botox but you have to be skilled in the depth of knowledge of all the intricate facial muscles and their interaction with each other to get the most beneficial and uncomplicated effect. We treat every client individually based on their unique needs. We have often had clients tell us how much easier, less painful as well as more effective our treatments are then when they have had them at other facilities. The effect lasts for approximately 3-4 months and is repeated when signs of the muscles contracting that cause the wrinkles return.
Fillers
There are several dermal fillers that can be used depending on the desired result, desired length of effect, and area of placement. At The Fountain we use only FDA approved products with proven safety and that will give you the most natural looking appearance. We use Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse to restore your natural and youthful look. They minimize wrinkles and creases caused by volume loss. The results will last from 6-18 months depending on the area of placement and the product used. Common areas of treatment are the creases on the sides of the nose down to the corners of the mouth (Nasolabial Folds), below the corners of the mouth (Marionette Lines), and the lips. We can also build up cheekbones and the hollows under the eyes for a very nice cosmetic effect.
As everyone’s pain tolerance and sensitivity is different, we strive to make you very comfortable during your treatment. You can choose from dental block, local topical anesthetic, as well as the Zimmer chiller for the most advanced pain control options in the area. To minimize bruising at the injection sites we advise you stop taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory products (Ibuprofen), St. John’s Wort, as well as high doses of Vitamin E and Omega 3 supplements 3-5 days prior to treatment.
